About Dude ~ 6mo Cattle Dog X Kelpie(Adopted 02/06/2022)
Dude by name and dude by nature. Hi, I'm Dude, and I’m a happy go lucky 6-month-old blue Cattle Dog x Kelpie. I am looking for that really perfect home who will love me, cherish me and take me on all the outings.
For all my dude-like swagger, I’m actually a shy boy and a little timid until I get to know you. It takes me a while but once I do, you will have my undivided loyalty and adoration. I love to be around my humans and am known to follow my foster mum around the house like her shadow. My foster mum tells me that I’m a funny little boy, and she regularly laughs at my funny antics. I love making her happy, I love making everyone around me the happiest they could be.
I am house-trained and have been used to using a doggy door. I love to run around outside but do not like to be left out there while my humans are inside. For this reason its super important that I have a family who will allow me to come inside and outside with them. I wont suit a family who want an outdoor only doggo, as the creature comforts and being by your side is where I am most happy.
I have had basic training but this will need to be continued when I go to my new home so I can be the best doggo you ever knew. I have been learning to walk on lead but I get nervous if I see someone coming toward us and will stop until I feel safe again. My new family will need to be someone with working dog experience and have the patience, kindness and commitment to helping me overcome my insecurities about being out and about. I am a very willing doggo so it won't take me long. I’ve been to the beach twice now and I run straight into the water to play fetch. My foster mum says it’s worth getting soaked herself when she showers me off because she knows how much fun I’ve had! More of these kinds of days would be the most amazing way to live.
I am currently living happily with an older dog and a cat. I’ve not been around children so my foster mum says I would be best suited to a home with no children under 5 years. As I am still a puppy, I can get very excited and may knock over a small child. I think I would fit in very nicely with an active family who enjoy trail walks, hiking and camping but I would not suit apartment living as I need a good-sized yard with secure fences. Ideally 6ft colourbond or similar with no holes or gaps.
If you’re looking for a loyal and loving boy who enjoys doing things with his family, sharing beach days and long walks together, then I am the Dude for you!
For more information on Dude, please contact his foster carer on their email dsbissell@gmail.com, Dude is in foster care in the Port Stephens Region, NSW and is available for adoption interstate subject to approval.
