Meet Banjo the wonder dog! Banjo is a gorgeous 6yr Old Bull Arab X 6 Years Old.
If you’re looking for:
• A big guard dog to protect your home and family;
• An active dog to help you train for that upcoming marathon;
• A fun loving dog to play with your kids and family;
• A well trained dog that obeys even your simplest of commands...
…then Banjo isn’t the dog for you!
You see, Banjo would probably sleep through a home invasion. You won’t even hear him bark, except when he’s dreaming and it’s usually only a half-hearted bark accompanied by some leg twitches. Banjo doesn’t like to run, but prefers a slow walk so he can sniff every blade of grass along the way. This also means that he doesn’t pull on the lead, but you may have to drag him sometimes.
What Banjo does better than probably any other dog you’re ever met, is show affection. He is the gentlest and most loving creature that ever walked the face of the earth. This is especially surprising when you consider he was found in a skip bin, extremely underweight, with his body covered in callouses. The callouses and his ‘skin and bones’ appearance suggest that he’s lived most of his life tethered to a hard surface. But don’t feel sorry for him, he’s a crafty devil – when you least expect it, he will steal your heart. And don’t leave your bedroom door open – he will happily jump on your bed for a nap – and it will be a long nap!
Because of his past, or in spite of it, Banjo loves people. He loves receiving attention and lots of pats on the head and belly rubs. He loves kids of all ages and sizes, other dogs, and even chickens! He is better suited to being the only pet in the house, for no other reason than he can have all of your undivided love and attention.
Now a little bit about you. If you’ve read this far, you’re probably entertaining the
thought of adopting Banjo. Before you do, here’s a checklist of a few things that will
make you a good fit for him:
• You need to have a 3 seater sofa (rather than a 2 seater), as this is one of his favourite places to nap and he’s a big dog that likes to stretch out. Other places he likes to nap are the kitchen floor, the backyard, the deck, the dining room floor, the lounge room floor, the back seat of the car (he loves roadtrips), any soft surface (rugs, carpets, people), his bed and of course, your bed.
• No one’s ever told Banjo he’s a big dog so now he thinks he’s a much smaller, lap dog. It’s not enough for him to be next to you on the sofa – he needs to be on top of you. This is non-negotiable and at 50kg, that’s a fair amount of weight to carry.
Finally, Banjo is toilet trained and up to date on all his vet work. He displays absolutely no aggression of any sort towards anyone (people or animals).
Banjo's adoption fee is $300 which includes all up to date vet work. If you’d like to meet him and see if you’re a compatible match, please contact his carer Victor at vfb64@me.com for more details, or complete the official adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt. Banjo is currently living on the Central Coast of NSW and is not available for interstate adoption at this time.
