About Abel
Abel is a two and a half years old German Shepherd x Husky whose family moved and couldn't take him with them.
Abel is wanting a home where he can connect with his family and show how much love he can give to his humans. He is a very shy dog who is learning to trust and needs to find that caring couple or family who provide him with the love he so desperately needs.
Abel is an active dog who will be suited to a home with either a single person or a couple that have experience with the German Shepherd breed and have the time and commitment for this young dog.
We want Abel to go to a home where he will be an integral family member. He is not suitable to go to a home with young children as he is very shy.
Abel is receiving one on one training with our Dog Trainer - Bear The Dog Behaviourist and is learning to walk beautifully when he is walked on lead. He needs to go to a home with a family who have knowledge of the breed and have owned a German Shepherd or another large breed dog.
He has not been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Intelligence, loyalty, love and companionship is what Abel will give in abundance when he connects and builds that trust with his new owner.
If you understand the nature of the German Shepherd, have recently owned this breed, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Abel.
If you think you can give me a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Abel".
Medical notes
Abel is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
