Hi, I’m Chutney, and I’m your biggest fan! I love to hang out with you getting pats and cuddles or going for long mad adventures in the bush. I have been known to chase wallabies in the past so you need to keep an eye on me but generally I am happy to sniff and investigate and stay close by. I am a friendly girl that loves to play with other dogs and I am tolerant of the young whipper snappers although I will put them in their place if they get too annoying. My favourite toy is my squeaky hedgehog. I love making it squeak and shaking it and playing keep away with the other dogs.
When I’m happy, my tail twirls like a helicopter blade. My best trick is sitting down and if that doesn’t work, I will try sitting down even closer, preferably on your foot. I also like to give your hand a little lick in case you’ve forgotten I’m there, right in your face. I am very smart and only a tiny bit extremely stubborn. I am not good at waiting my turn and think I should be first at everything.
I am very happy in my crate and will sleep quietly through the night but I am a high drive dog so when it’s not crate time, I expect it to be awesome adventure time. I have been known to hunt rats and shake them to pieces and probably wouldn’t discriminate between rats and other things that rustle in the bushes. I don’t chase the ducks while my foster parents are watching but probably would given half a chance. I like to chase things. I’m happy to chase balls too but am not quite as good at bringing them back. I prefer to disembowel them.
I get very excited on the back of the ute and bark at people, dogs, cows, cars, and plants. I am obsessed with eating plants as we go by and can be quite the hazard to myself and others but it does mean I will helpfully fill your ute tray with vegetation you can add to your compost. I also make a good guard dog as I am always alert.
If you are looking for a loyal and devoted sidekick to accompany you on an adventurous lifestyle, then I’m your girl!
Please do not apply unless you have had experience with cattle dogs or similar high drive breeds.
