About Millie
Meet 12yr old Millie who is looking for a patient, loving retirement home.
She loves to be with her person and snuggles on the couch and bed as much as possible. She takes a while to warm up to people and needs an understanding person, willing to go at her pace. She loves a walk, super easy on lead and doesn’t really require one as she will follow the one she loves. Once Millie loves you, she will want to be with you all the time so her person will need to be home most of the time as she does have some separation anxiety.
Millie has a few fatty lumps which is reasonable for her age. She has had a recent dental, with a few extractions but this doesn’t stop her enjoying her food. Millie has cataracts in both eyes but does not have any sight issues currently. She has no signs of arthritis and can jump up onto the bed/sofa with ease, but does not jump up on people very often.
Millie is house trained but when left alone this can slip her mind when she is stressed about being away from her person.
When Millie came into care she had had a bit of a rough go, She had a lot of mats in her fur, and had very painful feet due to overgrown nails, allergy and anxious chewing of her paws. She now has beautiful skin but does show fear aggression when her paws are handled. So she will need an experienced groomer/handler. Millie will warn you when she doesn’t like something or is worried, so someone who will listen to her is a must.
Millie has lived with other dogs of all sizes however seems more comfortable around medium to small dogs and is not reactive to other dogs when out on walks, so would be suitable to have a doggy friend.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
