About Lavender
MEET LAVENDER!
Lavender is approximately 2 years young, she is a beautiful silver tabby and white, desexed, vaccinated x2, microchipped and ready for her forever home.
Lavender came to our rescue after being rescued from her backyard breeder, she was only 6 weeks old when we got her and she was full up with the flu and very sickly, she couldn't eat properly and was very afraid.
After months of treatment and love, Lavender recovered and is now a healthy young adult, infact shes a bit tubby, but thats okay! Lavender loves other cats and will spend most of her time cuddling up too and playing with the other foster kitties.
Lavender is a bit unique and has a strong personality, she prefers the company of other cats over humans, though we found her when she was a baby and she's been raised in a loving, safe home since, she's still shy with strangers, definitely afraid of kids and will take her time to warm up to you, she is very independent and happy to just live doing her own thing around the house. We suspect this is just due to her start to life in the hands of the backyard breeder and being so ill.
Though she has her independent personality, she still can be quite sweet and will follow me around the house, rubbing between my legs and doing little meows, she loves her food and will accept pats, but most of the time she just isnt interested and will run off, she also is happy to sleep on the bed with you and next to you on the couch. I do believe in time in her very own home without having to share her human with so many other foster cats, that she will open up and learn to love humans and eventually sit on your lap. She has never scratched or bitten or shown aggression, just runs off if she is feeling "moody".
We are looking for a home that is not going to expect too much of Lavender too soon and is happy to have her in your home doing her own thing, she would make excellent company for another passive, friendly cat that needs a mate, though she will initially be standoffish, if your kitty accepts her, she will bond with them. If you are looking for a couch potato to provide some company at home, then Lavender would be good for you, but please understand her personality.
Lavender is INDOOR ONLY for life and would not cope outside, please only apply for her if this is okay and you feel she is a good fit for your home, she would not do well being moved to multiple homes so her next home MUST be her forever one.
- Please no inside dogs unless they have experience with cats
- Please no little kids
Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
