About Spot ~ 9mo Mixed Breed(On Trial 5/8/22)
PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provide individual listings specific to each foster dog that comes through our doors. Each listing outlines the specific requirements, and home that we are looking for. Should you submit an application OR inquiry and NOT receive a response within 5 business days (Monday-Friday), please understand that you have not met the specific requirements of the foster carer and will not be proceeding to the next stage. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged if you do not receive a reply, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time. Dog Rescue Newcastle reserve the right to not reply to unsuitable applicants and will not tolerate bullying, intimidation or harassment of our volunteers.
This is Spot! He is a 9 month old medium mixed breed (we think there is some bull terrier in there, mixed with sweetness!).
A shy playful boy, Spot is looking to be your constant companion in both work and play.
Spot’s ideal family will be active and enjoy taking him places especially where he can demonstrate his love for water, adventure and other dogs.
He is gentle with children and doesn’t jump on them and he also likes the resident cat. Spot does tend to curl up besides his foster siblings and I’m sure he’d cuddle the cat if he could.
Spot has a great recall once you build a relationship with him and he loves car journeys both far and near.
He is a gentle boy and has come a long way since being in care. He is still slightly scared by your feet near him and any projectiles although he has already done quite a bit of desensitization work and is gaining more confidence by the day.
He is very voice sensitive and would flourish in a house where there is not a lot of shouting. He is fine with industrial noise and has been on building sites since being in care.
Spot sleeps inside and is toilet trained and would need to be allowed to alternate between outdoors and indoors.
Being a quick learner he has mastered the ‘come’ command and also sits on cue. He is doing really well loose lead walking and enjoys his walks and café visits.
Ideally Spot would love another resident dog to wrestle and chase or the opportunity to regularly mingle with other canines.
If you think you could provide him with an amazing home please contact Jessie on bax-chuhaj@hotmail.com
For more information on Spot, please contact his foster carer on their email bax-chuhaj@hotmail.com. Spot is in foster care in Lake Macquarie NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Spot’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Spot please fill out the adoption application form here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.
You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
PLEASE NOTE: When applying for our dogs and puppies, please ensure to list the name of the dog you wish to adopt. Please do NOT just list the reference number or the microchip number as this will delay your application reaching the correct foster carer.
