About Finley
Fabulous Finley is a beautiful black 5 year old boy who is a gentle giant. He loves snuggling under his blanket and will let out an enthusiastic grunt when he settles into just the right position!
He spends the majority of his day lazing around on his beds wherever the humans are, but copes well with being outside as long as he can see in the window to keep an eye on things. He enjoys playing with his chew toys independently, and snuggling with any soft toys he can find, he has shown no signs of resource guarding or food aggression.
Finley can however be a little thief if he can reach the benchtop as he loves any and all fruits and veg, so a home where he can be prevented from accessing the kitchen would be best just in case he gets into any items that might make him sick.
Finley walks calmly on lead and will even bump into your hand to get a cheeky scratch mid-walk. He shows no signs of leash aggression, but will be interested in any animal he sees and he has a keen eye for spotting cats; with patience and hard work he is no longer reactive to the neighbourhood kitties he sees on his walk, but he does like to watch from a distance for a few seconds. Finley is rather apathetic towards other greyhounds and will often match the energy that they bring to the table, after a quick sniff he is happy to move on and ignore each other.
Finley has separation anxiety which can manifest in some vocalising at times, he is on medication currently which has made a positive effect and assists in keeping him settled but he would like his humans around more often than not, and isn't suited to those with full time working schedules.
Finley is not an only dog in his current household, he shares the attention of his humans with a greyhound sister and a little fluffy brother; however he is not suited to live with small dogs as he can be unpredictable and a bit too overstimulated. He would love a medium to large canine sibling in his new home.
