About Ash
I am looking for a highly active home where I can receive daily walks and plenty of mental enrichment. It would be preferable my adopters have experience with my breed or other high-drive breeds as we have very specific needs.
I am highly intelligent and willing to learn, so would absolutely love to go to obedience training to learn some new skills and manners.
I’m lacking skills, boundaries and confidence, as I just did not get what I needed in my critical learning period. I can be fearful of unfamiliar people, environments, sounds and objects and will need careful positive exposure to these particular things.
When I am comfortable, I do become very boisterous and mouthy. For this reason, it is best I am not rehomed with children or small animals. I will need a quiet, stable home where my new owners can begin to work on my manners, boundaries and focus as soon as I enter the home, so that my behaviour can begin to improve.
I can go to a home with another dog, however, it would have to be a dog with obedience that is calm and confident, and can put me in my place if I am being too boisterous.
Due to my breed, it may be that I have issues with my hips and stifles in the future. I have been checked over by my Veterinarians and they have given me a clean bill of health, but as with all German Shepherds, it is best that I am monitored closely for any lameness or pain as I mature.
