About Yumi ~ Boxer X Staffy(On Trial 24/4/22)
PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provide individual listings specific to each foster dog that comes through our doors. Each listing outlines the specific requirements, and home that we are looking for. Should you submit an application OR inquiry and NOT receive a response within 5 business days (Monday-Friday), please understand that you have not met the specific requirements of the foster carer and will not be proceeding to the next stage. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged if you do not receive a reply, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time. Dog Rescue Newcastle reserve the right to not reply to unsuitable applicants and will not tolerate bullying, intimidation or harassment of our volunteers
Meet Yumi, a gorgeous 10 week old boxer x staffy puppy. Yumi is a smart and curious puppy. She is very playful and loves a good wrestle with her foster siblings.
We often find her exploring in the garden. She loves her food and will let you know if you have missed dinner time. Yumi likes to snuggle in for lots for naps and cuddles. She is a very smart puppy who taught herself how to use the doggy door.
Being a pup she can be a little jumpy and mouthy. She is currently living with a four year old child, who she loves but can be a bit overwhelming at times for both of them.
Yumi will grow into a big dog (look at the size of those paws!), so please consider your circumstances both now and in the long term and do some research on what is involved in caring for, living with and training large dogs prior to submitting an application.
Yumi would love to have another adult dog for company who she can learn from, or will need a family with someone home more often than not. She has been attending work with her foster carer and is quiet happy to nap most of the day while she works.
Yumi loves her outside environment so please NO apartments or courtyard applications as she will be a larger dog so will need plenty of space. She will need good 5-6 foot fencing with no small gaps. NO Rural fencing will be considered.
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All puppies will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training to ensure proper boundaries and routines are established. This will ensure that you get the best family member/friend possible.
Yumi needs to be welcomed inside when people are home. She sleeps inside and uses the doggy door to relieve herself during the night. Yumi had a few dental issues and as a result she has had all her lower front teeth removed. Her adult teeth will hopefully grow correctly. However, she may need future dental work so please consider this financial commitment.
For more information please contact Jess at jessfosters.NDR@gmail.com, Yumi is currently in foster care in Mayfield NSW. To apply to adopt her, please complete the application here - https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Yumi’s adoption fee is $700 which includes all up to date vet work. She has had her first vaccination, the second is covered as part of your adoption fee (to be organised and conducted by a DRN approved vet), and the third vaccination and so forth is the responsibility of the adoptee to cover. We include desexing, microchipping and up to date treatment for fleas and worms as part of the adoption fee.
