About Dennis
Dennis radiates joy. He’s a comedian, and is always leaping about and making everyone laugh. He lives for fun times so if you’re searching for an adventurous side kick, he’s the one!
He’s not your regular greyhound, the sleepy snoozy kind. This boy is interested in everything and wants to be a part of the action, a real doggy dog! Think- adventures to the beach where he can dig some big holes, games of ball in the backyard, and ending the day with some tv (he will stand right in front of it and watch happily) then falling asleep with his eyes open and his tongue lolling out.
Dennis’s enthusiasm is contagious, a lovable goofball. He’s super friendly, affectionate and snuggly (with a preference for being little spoon in your bed if he’s allowed!) a big gangly dork with chattering teeth and a lust for life. His foster fam say he only knows one emotion- happiness!
He has boundless energy so a yard is a must. He loves other dogs, but as playing is his middle name they better be patient, extra points for tug-o-war skills! He’s still learning how large he is so bigger kids are best (so he doesn’t accidentally bundle smaller ones over with his long gangly legs) and he would love several walks and a solid play each day- an active owner who works from home or part time will suit this gorgeous boy best, as he’s too much fun to be left alone all day!
Summary:
- Needs a home where people are home more often than not or with a medium to large canine for companionship
- NOT small dog or cat friendly
- Requires a home with backyard (NOT suitable for apartment living)
- Not suitable for homes with children under 12 years of age
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
https://greytgreys.org/adoption-form/
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
