Monte

Please meet darling Monte, a handsome and affectionate 6 yo Lhasa Apso mix with a heart of gold and a temperament to match.

Being around Monte is nothing less than a "feel-good" experience. He's a placid, easy-going and very well behaved boy that loves everyone, with the possible exception of little children. He wasn't brought up with babies and toddlers, so he finds them a tad overwhelming.

Monte loves being out and about, whether that's at the coffee shop for a puppachino, taking long walks along the river or the beach, or just hanging out in the evenings with his family. He loves a good cuddle in front of TV.

Lead-trained and relaxed with other dogs, Monte is a non-reactive chap and is a pleasure to take anywhere. He'd make an enthusiastic walking buddy. Two walks a day is his idea of heaven.

He is not cat-friendly.

Monte enjoys meeting new people and is happy to receive (and give)attention, but is not needy.

He's not a random barker, but don’t expect him to remain quiet if there are loud noises or strangers at the front door or on the other side of the dividing fence.

The photos in this profile were taken just after Monte was groomed, but he has a naturally long coat that requires regular brushing.

As you'll see in the video, he's very easy to handle and doesn't mind at all if you open his mouth, touch his (newly cleaned) teeth and ears, or even clip his nails. He's placid with a capital "P".

Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and where Monte will be the only dog, as he enjoys being the focus of his family's attention. He is very definitely an inside/outside dog and is not suited to life in the backyard, nor is he suited to full-time workers. As always, secure fencing is essential.

His adoption fee is $795 and he is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
