About Mia
Mia is a sweetheart. She is playful, smoochy and affectionate, active and easy going.
She seeks a human who will be patient with her and let her enjoy life at her pace.
Mia came to us from a rural pound on the outskirts of Melbourne. We know little of her history, but we do know she wasn't given the care she needed.
She hasn't seen much of the world, but is generally optimistic and with encouragement from her trusted support human she learns about new things quickly and without fuss.
A home where she is centre of attention would be nice. No cats or young kids and if she is to have a dog friend a desexed male would be preferable.
Ideally she would be in a home where she has human company, a comfy spot or two, and is taken on low stress sniffy walks and car rides for entertainment.
Mia takes such joy from everything and it is contagious. What she has been through is sad, it is awful what some animals go through, but she isn't dwelling and neither should we! She is a girl who is doing everything full throttle. Sleeping belly up, smiling her biggest rotti grin and stopping to smell the roses.
Medical notes
Mia has muscle atrophy in her head and jaw, she lacks the full range of motion in her jaw and cant completely close it nor completely open it due to scar tissue, which we suspect formed during a bout of untreated masticatory muscle myositis. It won’t get any worse and has likely been this way for a few years.
She also suffers from eye irritation and discharge, which needs to be wiped daily.
Her blood results are good and show her organ function is as it should be.
She is up to date with vaccinations and parasite prevention, she is microchipped and desexed.
Despite her physical limitations she is a happy, affectionate, playful, couch cushion of a dog!
