About Basha
Basha is a total sweetheart. A cheeky and intelligent two-year-old Jack Russell X who came into our care just over a month ago. In this time Basha has come leaps and bounds, and his bright personality is starting to show.
Just a few weeks ago Basha feared vehicle noises and wasn't lead trained. Now walks are his favourite part of the day, and he is well behaved on the lead. Little Basha loves nothing more than a walk or two daily to check out the local smells, sitting in the sun in the backyard, and being around his people.
Basha came into our care with another dog but has been in foster care alone in a two-adult home. He seems to enjoy being an only dog, as long as he has toys and his people around. While Basha came into care without knowing basic commands, he's fully house-trained, is comfortable using a dog door, and knows the commands sit, come, and wait. He is very motivated to learn, picks things up quickly and is an intelligent boy. He enjoys treats and while he was initially shy, is learning to play and fetch. He has even started doing zoomies around the yard. He is so excited to learn that he is a little jumpy, but this is improving with training.
Basha was recently desexed and vaccinated (hence the photos with two cones on- one wasn't enough to stop him licking! But he didn't complain about the cones). When he has come across other people and dogs to date, he has shown interest and stopped walking (seemingly as he is waiting for pats and attention from those walking by!).
Basha is crate trained and enjoys sleeping in his crate at night. He doesn’t make a peep. His foster carers have been putting him in the crate when they leave the house as he doesn’t like spending too much time alone, he just loves human company. He will cry in protest when they leave but seems to settle quickly in the crate until they return. We anticipate this might change with some further training but think he would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time. Little Basha just loves being around people and is happy to sit at your feet for most of the day (in addition to a walk or two, a little sunbaking and some brain stimulating toys to chew).
A condition of our adoption agreement is that all dogs adopted from Chally MUST be put through obedience training, if you cannot meet this commitment please do not apply. All our dogs deserve the chance to be the very best they can be, and we will choose homes that will ensure this is the case.

Our adoption process is as follows:
1) Animal is listed on PetRescue
2) Applications are received
3) The application which we feel offers the best-suited home to the pet is contacted for first preference of a meet and greet to see if they 'click' with the animal.
We do not follow a first-in, first-served process and only consider applications completed via our online form.
Due the popularity of some dogs - and the fact that our rescue is run entirely by volunteers - we cannot guarantee that all unsuccessful applicants will be notified, however we will do our best.
