About Roo
Sweet, shy, and playful. Miss Rooey is a gorgeous 2.5-year-old “kangaroo” who is looking for forever humans who will adore her as much as she will adore them. Like most greyhounds, Roo’s favourite activities consist of walks/zoomies, napping, eating… and repeat! She’s also a bit of a shoe and blanket thief (sorry, shoe and blanket “guardian”!).
Roo is friendly with other dogs and is currently in foster care with another female greyhound. Roo would enjoy having a calm and confident canine sibling (medium or large breed) in her new home. We are also happy to consider homes where Roo would be an only dog, provided her new humans are home more often than not, and have time to gradually help her adjust to spending time home alone.
Roo was terrified of traffic noises when she first came into care and refused to go outside for walks. Although her confidence is growing and she now enjoys an outdoor adventure, Roo’s forever home will be in a quieter suburb and/or away from streets with lots of traffic noise. A nearby park or reserve, plus a grassy backyard (or reasonably sized courtyard) to take the pressure off walks as she settles in, will be perfect.
Roo was a skinny little hound when she arrived in care and is still learning her food manners, so it is important to keep kitchen counters clear and be consistent with not feeding her off your plate. Otherwise, Roo has lovely house manners and has adjusted to life inside the home really well. She initially had some issues with toilet training, mainly due to her fear of outside noises, but has now mastered the art of toileting outside.
Roo’s is truly a beautiful soul with SO much love to give. If you think your home sounds perfect for Roo and you can give her the gentle patience she needs to settle into her new forever home, please contact us at adopt@amazinggreys.com.au. You’ll be rewarded with the sweetest canine best friend a human could ask for.
