About Badger
Up for adoption Badger 🦡
This kitten is a kid friendly and cat friendly bundle of energy. Usually he starts off watching from a far but he always ends up centre of attention. Brought in originally after his rescuers house flooded, this little boy is the last of his litter to go.
Now there is a reason for this. When he was collected it was noticed that one of his eyes was incredible sore looking and ulcerated. We quickly realised he had an entropion eyelid.
Entropion is a genetic condition in which a portion of the eyelid is inverted or folded inward against the eyeball.
This results in irritation and scratches to the front surface of the eye (cornea) leading to ulceration, or even perforation. Usually the eyelashes are constantly rubbing on the eye- imagine how that feels!
After seeing the eye specialist Dr Gavin Newman for corrective surgery, he has now been given the all clear for adoption. Because he was so young when he had the surgery there’s a small chance as he grows he may need a second surgery. If there was an issue down the road Ginger Ninja would cover the costs.
