Mandarin

Mandarin and Pomelo were the firstborn kittens of Tangerine, who was a kitten of a cat called Lily who was left behind when the owners moved. Why this happened, we don't know because Lily is an outstandingly lovely and affectionate cat, and so are all her kittens. Lily and her quickly growing family were fed by caring neighbours who called us in to help when it got to the third generation. Why didn't they call us sooner? Kids at school had told this caring family's children that if the cats were handed in, they'd be killed. The children of the family were very upset, but eventually agreed that it was best for Lily and her family to be rehomed responsibly as they couldn't look after all of them. So that's how Pomelo & Mandarin came into care with Cat People of Melbourne!
Pomelo and Mandarin are shy at first, but once they warm up and gorgeous loving kittens who love snuggles in bed or on the couch, adore their food and are loving the indoor life. Mandarin is a big purry goofy boy with handsome ginger stripes on a smart white fur body, big amber eyes and he's going to grow a lot more, he's a big boy. He loves to play with his foster brother Frederic who's about the same age and energy level (in fact they'd be an ideal pair to adopt together!). Mandarin also adores his sister Pomelo, who is half the size, twice the sass and confidently shows him everything is going to be ok. He'd be very happy to live with Pomelo too!

To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from Cat People of Melbourne. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
