Rita

Rita is very, very affectionately known as The Grumpy Troll. It's not that she's really that grumpy, she just wears her heart on her sleeve and when she came in to Cat People of Melbourne she was very, very scared.

Rita needs a home with an experienced cat owner. She's still coming out of her shell and needs someone who will help her blossom into the sweet crazy cat that's inside. She does need a kitty friend. She needs someone who will do a slow introduction, or she will get overwhelmed.

Rita is quite a sweet cat. She does like a cuddle. She likes her food. She likes her kitty friends, and she does like her foster carer. She is the kind of cat who will follow you from room to room. Not because she wants to help you with anything, she just thought of something she had to do, and you 'just happen' to be going where she is!

As mentioned, Rita wears her heart on her sleeve. She is a talker. She will tell you when she's hungry, when she wants to be out of the crate, when she's unhappy. you will hear about it all.

Rita is ok with the dogs at her foster home. She will tell them off (sometimes with claws) if she feels they get too close, too boisterous or too in her face. If you're ready to spend the time with Rita and don't mind her dominating your dogs, submit an enquiry now!

To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from Cat People of Melbourne. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
