About Tofu. Loving little man needing foster home <3
Tofu is a sweet little gentleman looking for a home where he can retire in style 🧡💙💜
After spending most of his life neglected in a backyard breeding operation, he's loving the new life he's the star of!
His confidence has grown wonderfully due to the dedication of his foster parents, but he needs to continue working on coping with strangers coming to the house (he gets quite worked up barking and trembling). His current foster carers believe he may need a different environment to overcome this last piece of his rehab. Hence Tofu is looking for a foster or foster with view to adopt home.
His ideal foster or forever home will include:
▪︎a pair of humans where either one or both work from home where Tofu can be cuddled up nearby.
▪︎has no existing or frequently visiting children who may not understand why they can't play with him.
▪︎has an existing calm dog who'll welcome Tofu into the family however not push him too much.
▪︎has 24/7 access to indoors and outdoors so Tofu can quickly deal with old man bladder issues if they arise, and also as being so little he really feels the cold.
▪︎is willing and able to administer daily pain and anxiety medication, and drive Tofu to vet visits arranged by us.
We're currently discussing with his treating vet whether he needs surgery for his knees which pop in and out, this will be decided shortly and may impact the foster home we choose for him due to distance from his treating vet.

We are a registered charity, foster care network and private shelter, focusing on the rescue, rehab and rehoming of cats who've never had experience with humans, and of dogs who may not have been given a chance by others. 💕 ABOUT OUR WORK WITH DOGS:
We take in dogs from community surrenders, owned arranged euthanasia's which vets have intervened on, and greyhounds retired from or not suitable for racing. Most of our dogs are with us for extended periods to ensure we know them really well before putting them up for adoption, and have been assessed by professional dog trainers if not worked with extensively. We provide full discretion with adopters about dogs' health and behaviour and ongoing support to integrate adopted dogs into new homes, families and lifestyles. The success and longevity of our dogs' adoptions is very important to us.
💕 ABOUT OUR WORK WITH CATS:
We run a donation funded shelter in semi-rural Avalon, that was previously used for dog breeding. When we took ownership of the property, our hard working volunteers spent many months transforming the building into a bright and colourful environment featuring 7 large, fully enclosed pens capable of housing 8 wild-born cats. We take in full cat colonies, pregnant and nursing mothers, ophan kittens, FIV positive cats, and sick or injured cats. Cats are humanely trapped after being identified as un-owned; we don't take in domesticated cats and have extensive processes to ensure cats trapped are true strays as opposed to owned. We don't give cats deadlines to be socialised by or they'll be euthanised, we provide sanctuary for them for as long as they need.
