About Darby - 8 week old (on trial 10/04/2022)
Sweet baby Darby is ready for her next adventure! Is it your house?
Darby was one of three kittens who came into care after being abandoned by their kitty mum - who can't be blamed as she was only a baby herself. All the wee babies had to be bottle fed by their loving foster mum so they could grow big and strong. So they are very attached to their humans!
Darby is the smallest little munchkin of her litter and is as sweet as a little spoonful of sugar. She is not as adventurous as her brother Dash, but will follow his lead in play. She has a special request of her new family: cuddles. And lots of them! She is the most affectionate little girl and loves falling asleep in your arms like a little baby. She is also a huge fan of her food - while she's still tiny she needs a bit of supervision eating as she has a slightly bad (but completely adorable) habit of falling asleep while she's eating.
The kittens are all just 8 weeks old (as of 2/4/22) and are ready for their new homes now. They will need to be either adopted with another kitten or go to homes with a friendly cat to be their buddy - they love to play with their kitten friends! Darby's brother Dash would be a great fit: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/901625 They are very used to their foster dog sister trying to be their mum - so a cat-friendly dog would be fine. They would also be fine with young children as long as they're respectful and kind - and gentle with their tiny baby bodies.
Kittens adopted from DRN need to be adopted to a home in the Newcastle/Hunter/Central Coast/Port Stephens area so that they can be brought to a DRN vet for desexing when they are approx 3.5 months old.
Darby is an indoor-only kitten, unless you have a secure outdoor enclosure for her to spend some time in. Her adoption fee is $250 which covers her first vaccination, desexing, microchip, and flea and worm treatment while in care.
