About Luna
Introducing Luna! Born 21 September 2020
Luna came into us as a stray for the second time. This time however, her owner decided not to come and reclaim her, so now she is looking for her new furever home.
Luna LOVES people. She loves them so much that she does not like to be left on her own for long periods, so she will need an owner who is home a lot so that she does not get scared and frustrated being by herself. She does quite enjoy toys and bones, so when you need to leave the house and leave her by herself these will keep her occupied for a short while.
Luna seems to be ok with other dogs most of the time, but she doesn’t really seem to know how to interact with them properly. This sometimes ends in her or the other dog being a bit snappy or growly, so if you currently have a canine companion in your household you will need to bring them in with you for a meet and greet to ensure everyone is happy.
Luna doesn’t seem to really care about cats or small animals, she barely even wanted to look at them no matter how hard our friendly cats tried to get her attention. However, since we don’t allow them to meet face to face but through a barrier, we can’t guarantee exactly what she would be like if she saw them running free.
Since this was Luna’s second time coming to us, she will need to go to a home with very secure fencing. As we are not sure how she was getting out of her previous yard, we recommend 6 foot colourbond fencing. We understand not everyone can have such fencing, but as we are concerned about her safety should she get scared or worried we don’t want her to escape her new yard.
Luna is very treat and food focused as well as loving toys, so this makes her easy to train and get her attention. Even though she is a fully grown adult, we recommend her new owners continue with ongoing training and socialisation. This will also help keep her stimulated and her brain occupied, so she will be less likely to want to go for a wander on her own outside her yard.
Luna is a sweet, gentle girl who just wants a family to call her own. Could that be you? If you think so, please email us at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com to express your interest.
Luna's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing, first vaccination and lifetime registration. Luna is also regularly treated for flea and worms.
Rehoming No: R251000019
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
