About Max
We adore this smiley, bubbly, energetic little pocket rocket who loves everyone and everything. Max has been fostered on a sheep farm learning how to be a true blue worker where he has shown us that he adores dogs, people and the outdoors. He will make a fantastic companion for one lucky family who need a little kelpie to brighten their days.
Here are all the important things you need to know about Max before offering him a home.
Best attributes: learns quickly, friendly, loves attention, great with toileting, good with other dogs, has been fine with recent thunderstorms.
Loves: to be with you, going for walks (that are really runs), treats, water, ute rides, playing with his kelpie foster brother.
Dislikes: small spaces eg. Kennel pulls his bed out and sleeps out the front.
Max is an energetic loveable character who thrives on attention. We are hoping to find him a home with an acreage, hobby or working farm where he has the space and opportunity to exercise those running legs and that busy brain.
Max would be a brilliant partner for anyone who has an interest in exploring agility, flyball or any dog-human sports where you can learn and exercise together. He would also make a great running, hiking or biking partner for someone who loves an action packed lifestyle.
With all that energy he may be a bit too busy for a young family so while we would consider a home with children under 5 we feel he would be better suited to a household with older children. He loves all forms of attention though so a brave small person who showers him in cuddles and treats would be a welcomed addition to his world.
On the lead he is good with cats, chooks and horses however he has not had the opportunity to be let him loose around them. Like with any pet, a slow introduction paired with training will usually be all that is required to establish good behaviour during any new experiences.
A hurdle we have faced with Max has been his busy brain that sometimes interferes with his recall. It’s something we have been working really hard on and we know once a strong bond has been formed between Max and his new owner his recall with strengthen considerably. We do offer training post adoption with our trusted trainer.
Max is a typical fun loving, enthusiastic, energetic kelpie with an unwavering zest for life. If you have a kelpie shaped hole in your life please arrange to meet Max.
Max is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
His adoption fee is $500.
