Meet Ruby – one happy, sweet, and affectionate 11 year old lady with plenty of love still left to give!

Don’t let the age fool you, Ruby is fun, fit and healthy, people often make comments on our walks that she still got the energy of a puppy! Being a true Beagle, Ruby loves to sniff and LOVES her food! She also loves her daily walks, and is friendly with people, kids, dogs and cats. Ruby loves cuddles, back and belly scratches, and have we mentioned she loves FOOD?

Ruby is calm, independent, and will happily sleep the day away between her walks and meals when someone’s home, however she can get anxious and vocal when left alone in the house. (Although according to her previous owner, she is used to being alone during work hours. So perhaps it is just a matter of time and being settled). Ruby can be sensitive to sudden sounds outside the house at first (cars/chatters), but gets over it quite quickly after some reassurance. We are working on all these, and already we’re seeing improvements. Ruby is smart, very much food motivated, and with consistent training, it’d only be a matter of time for Ruby to gain her confidence and be the perfect girl that she truly is.

Ruby is crate and toilet trained, understands basic commands, and travels well in cars (though can get a little excited when she sees other dogs on the street while she’s in the car). Ruby will suit singles, couples, as well as families with young or older children. Whilst she’s friendly with other dogs, Ruby would like to be the only pet in the house so she could receive all the undivided love and attention that she deserves. The perfect owner(s) for Ruby would be someone who’s driven to do ongoing training, who has the time to take her out to exercise (walk or play fetch), and in return Ruby would be the sweetest, calm and down-to-earth girl for you. And of course, Ruby would also like someone who would give her lots of yummy treats!!
