About Luca
Hi my name is LUCA and I am a super soft and cuddly baby boy
My Mom is a labrador x Mastiff and my Daddy is unknown
Current weight 8.3 kilos so I'm gonna be a chunky monkey when I'm all grown up
Based on my current weight I am going to probably be a large boy once fully grown.
LUCA is a big soft boy and loves a big cuddle, even though he is a big boy he is still a baby and a big softy. You will get a kiss from him and maybe even a nibble on the ear, although with his puppy teeth he can give you a little nip. He will sit and stare at you through the glass door and give a whine or a howl when he wants attention. He has the most adorable face and eyes and the softest fur. For a large dog LUCA is quite calm and soft. He gets excited with new meetings and initial play but will then settle. He will make a great companion and will connect with someone he spends his day with. LUCA is not a digger ( yet) lol and tends to play with his siblings and then enjoy a snooze during the day.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION ONCE YOU HAVE SENT YOUR ENQUIRY
Luca has had 2 sets of puppy vaccines and has been wormed every 2 weeks since birth
Luca comes with one of our adoption packs including Harness.Lead and Seat Belt Safety attachment
Food
LUCA is currently eating three meals a day consisting of premium puppy dry food and sometimes cooked chicken fillets or roast chicken and sometimes a rice mix. LUCA loves, and I mean LOVES his food and when you are preparing his meal he will come running, he will sit at the window and howl with his siblings to be fed. He is first to try and get to his bowl and gulp down his food as he has grown up with his siblings eating at the same time. He would benefit from a slow feeder or he will settle when he finds his own home. He has sampled lamb off cuts and we are using Smackoâs for treats and training.
Sleeping
LUCA loves sleeping with his brother and sister in a dog bed undercover at the back door. He sleeps through the night and normally goes to bed around 10pm and will not wake until about 7 am. During the day he will snuggle up with one of his siblings in a round dog bed or on a blanket at the back door. On some evenings he will have a sleep on the couch with his foster adults.
Toileting/Training/walking
LUCA is continuing to learn about toilet training and has access to the garden at night and both garden and grassed area during the day. On occasions he has had an accident on the rear deck he has been too long asleep, but will mostly go outside on the grass. In his new home we would expect him to have a few accidents until he is used to her new surroundings and finds his spot. It will be important for you to encourage him to go outside and find his place once he wakes up from sleeping or taking a nap.
LUCA is currently wearing a collar and training to sit. He will take food from your hand greedily but is gentle when doing so. It will be important that he goes to puppy school to further his training.
Due to his age and not being fully vaccinated LUCA has not been on a lead or harness or been on walks. He has been wearing a collar and is not fussed about having it on. He will need ongoing use of the lead and would benefit from learning from other dogs. We also take him out the front to get him used to seeing new things like cars driving past and people/dogs out walking.
Once LUCA is old enough and fully vaccinated it will be important that he is taken for a daily walk.
Exercise/toys
LUCA loves exploring in the house and outside in the garden. He can be seen with his siblings in the garden playing hide and seek and possibly chewing on a plant or stick. He enjoys wrestling with his siblings. You will normally find him outside in the garden exploring or playing with his toys, siblings and resident dogs. LUCA is learning about tug of war and chewing toys.
Children
LUCA is currently living in a home with 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, which he adores. LUCA has also been around other people and is very friendly, however he has puppy teeth and is growing fast so a home with older children would be better suited.
Dogs/Cats
LUCA has not been tested with cats, but due to his age I don't see any problem with him being homed with a cat.
LUCA is currently living with two of his siblings and 2 Jack Russellâs who are older. LUCA is not to fussed by the other dogs but when he tryâs getting attention from the other dogs, being older they can be grumpy. LUCA would love to find a home with a medium/large size female dog. He is very considerate and can amuse himself and would not annoy them too much.
Travel
LUCA is not fussed by the car and will normally just lay down and enjoy the ride. Sometimes at the start of the drive he may whine but will settle.
Bath
LUCA has had a few baths and is not fussed by the water at all. He is given treats during the bath to learn it is ok to have a spa treatment.
