We spend parts of our day watching Aurora and her sister running around the yard, jumping on each other, seeing who can win a tug-of-war battle before stopping for a sleep on each other in the sun. One of the joys of puppy ownership is the variety in behaviour and seeing them grow into themselves every day. Having an uncommon blend of parents, everyone that sees them comments on how cute they are and how unique their features are.
Of all the visitors and play friends, KIDS are her favourite, everything about them Aurora loves – their energy, noises and they love to run and chase!
OBEDIENCE, SOCIALISATION, ENRICHMENT: Princess Aurora loves toys of all kinds, rope for tug of war, chasing balls, finding sticks, stealing from her canine friends in the hope they chase her, jumping on her sister for a rumble. We have commenced lead training and sitting, it is a work in progress. She is very curious and playful with humans and canine friends. Princess Aurora gets extremely excited when you offer her attention, she will approach in the yard, sometimes there is an excitable wee too. Toilet training has not commenced as she is mostly outside and uses the grassed area for toileting. Like most puppies, she will find new and interesting things to explore throughout the day, such as a small wading pool of water to splash in or a sand pit to dig and roll around in.
Aurora has an incredible nose, being able to sniff out the tiniest morsel of food in the grass or finding something previously buried, the dog equivalent of Dora the Explorer!
After the initial excitement of playing with people when entering the yard or the resident dog, Aurora will usually wander off and occupy herself or lie down for a power nap, knowing that you cannot be 100% full speed 24/7.
FOOD: Princess Aurora has been eating three meals a day of high-quality Savourlife dry puppy food. While in foster care she is being fed Savour Life ancient grains puppy food. She feeds from the same bowl as her sister but separate from the resident dog. Together they calmly nibble on their food throughout the day.
GROOMING: She has been bathed and was very well behaved throughout, not fussed by the water. She may need regular brushing and possibly grooming as her coat grows.
TRAVEL/CAR: Princess Aurora has been in the car a few times and does cry a little though calms with beautiful music and will eventually sleep in the crate.
SLEEPING: Princess Aurora sleeps outside with her sister, usually around sundown. Our movement cameras show that she does get up during the night for toileting. Transitioning into the house may need an early dinner, some play and toilet break before crating for the night.
IDEAL HOME: She will need training and continued human and other dog socialisations to ensure she strengthens her confidence. She absolutely loves humans and loves kisses and cuddles. She is quite capable of entertaining herself, although she has been living with her sister and resident dog and they do love to rumble. We have seen her chase birds and find fun in exploring the yard. She can be mouthy therefore older children would be better suited. An adequate yard space for her energy will provide her a happy place to play and enjoy zoomies. We believe she will be great with a male companion or an incredibly involved family to teach her the way. We adore her and think she is spunky and will bring so much joy to her special family.
Adoption criteria
A secure yard of larger size
Children in the home are fine BUT must be mature and kind and gentle , we are also seeking children of school age that have prior dog experience
Remembering her breed mix Princess Mulan will be a higher energy girl that will need daily exercises ( walks around a small block wont cut it)
A home with another dog is fine but we would be seeking a Male of similar size who is well socialized and gentle with puppies
Puppy School and ongoing education and training throughout her life is a must
A home where her family will understand that a new puppy will be a lot of work especially while they settle into a routine and all things that come along with a baby. Chewing.crying.stealing things they should not etc
If and only IF you meet the requirements of this puppy and would like to make him a part of your family please apply
