About Malibu
Hi I’m Malibu!
I’m a little girl with big energy!
I absolutely love people, in fact I’d like to spend all my time with people if I could. I’m currently in foster care with a dog and two cats. I love to play with my foster siblings! I do play a little rough so a doggo who has similar high energy and size would be preferable.
I love toys as well. Any type will do for me! Soft toys, rope toys, squeaky toys, balls, they’re all fun to me!
I love going for walks too and I’m such a good girl on them! I don’t react to other dogs or people and I’ve been working on not pulling too hard as well. I’m still working on sitting at each corner. I also have a great recall so can be taken off lead at the park for some play time!
I sleep every night in my crate and it’s a bit of a safe space for me. I can cry a tiny bit when in there but will settle after a while. I even know to go in there when foster mumma says “hop in your bed”. Im still mastering toilet training but my crate has definitely helped me get in a routine!
I’m a little nippy and jumpy at the moment so I’m still learning my manners. I would suit a home with adult children until I learn to be gentle.
I would really benefit from ongoing obedience training. I’m a clever girl who’s very food motivated.
I have shown some slight resource guarding behaviours when I have a bone in my crate but my foster mum has working hard to make sure I know I don’t need to protect my food because no one will steal it!
I really need a home where my people are home more often than not because I can be a little anxious when left alone.
Adoption details
Our adoption process consists of:
- An adoption application questionnaire that will be emailed upon an enquiry if we deem your enquiry is suitable for that particular animal. Please read the description of our animals before making an enquiry.
- A meet and greet to ensure yourself and any existing animals are suitable for your chosen furry friend
- A house check to ensure your property is suitable. This my include physically coming to your house, a video call or photos.
- An adoption agreement to sign upon being approved for adoption. This includes a two week trial period to allow your new pet to settle into their new home.
- Please note we are purely volunteer run so sometimes it may take up to 7 business days for the team to get back to your enquiry and we will only contact you if we believe your enquiry is suitable.
