Komala is a super handsome floofy boy who loves his pack. He’s pretty big on affection, quality time, playing, going for walks and just being wherever you are. Komala will suit a home with children over 8 and even another doggo mate to play with and have fun. Komala can be equally happy lying at your feet as he is playing fetch, he’s just happy to share your activity.

Komala has just started his walking on lead journey and needs continued support in understanding that he doesn’t have to lead the pack. He is slowly learning that he can relax and not be reactive toward any passerby’s, he is learning that the humans keep him safe, so he can relax and enjoy his walk.

Komala loves his food and has shown wonderful manners at dinner time and he is a super good boy, he will even leave food in the bowl when he has had enough. Komala is currently living with another dog (1 year old kelpie x), 1 child (8) 1 x teen (13), 2 adults, 2 cats and a rabbit. Komala is a little too excited with the cats and rabbit but has shown no aggression towards them, I feel with continued training and boundaries he will coexist with smaller animals happily.

Komala plays beautifully with our kelpie and despite their size difference there is no overpowering or growling, just happy balanced playing and zero possessiveness over toys and wonderful turn taking. Both dogs gallop around the yard together and enjoy a good display of zoomies! With these super fun zoomies also comes a well worn dirt patch around the yard, so if you’re fond of manicured lawns, Komala might not be your best garden buddy!

Komala has come from a rural property and is only learning now what it means to have foot traffic come past the home. He is very loud to anyone passing by the home and is very vocally protective of his home and family. This is behaviour he is working on with us but will need continued support with ongoing training.

Komala quite enjoys a good scrub a dub dub at the dog wash, however….not a fan of the rain, he will avoid rain and would rather stay undercover. This big fella is a dream at bed time. He is perfectly toilet trained and will happily sleep all night on his cushy dog bed. Komala shows no signs of any boredom behaviour, no digging, chewing or thieving. He knows how to sit, drop and shake and is very keen to please. He is also rather fond of his floofiness and loves a good hair brush.
