About Major
Hi I'm Major, and I'm a majorly good boy - some would even say the goodest of boys!
I'm a senior boy, with beautiful soulful eyes, and a heart of gold.
Unfortunately, after giving 5+ years of my life to a family that I loved, I was left for dead at a local pound. I thought my time was up, and boy did it get close.
I was rescued by Gladstone PAWS, and just as I got my hopes up - I was dealt another blow when we got the results back after removal of a lump on my paw.
Unfortunately, that lump tested positive as a mast cell tumour :-(
My hopes of a long happy life, retiring with a forever family were dashed. But all hope was not lost and the vet work was completed as I'm such a kind and loving boy. The lump has been removed, but it will come back one day, and I will eventually succumb to the cancer.
It's best not to dwell on these things, and for now, I am happy, healthy, and wanting to live my best life with a family who wants to take me on - even knowing that that time may be limited. Quality over quantity - I say! I just hope someone can look past this, and see the value in a life with a good boy like me.
I get on amazingly with other dogs, haven't seemed to be bothered by cats or even chickens. In fact, the only things I haven't been a fan of are goats... and pillows.
I had a trial adoption run with free roam indoors/outdoors all day with the resident little dog while the owners were at work. During this time the quilts and pillows all neatly stacked on the humans beds would frequently torment me. I could not resist retaliating and released my full wrath upon them, much to the human's shock. They say that I'm otherwise perfect, but probably not suitable for being left indoors unsupervised and I need tall-ish fences because if they're too small I may follow you to work.
Gladstone PAWS will place me into palliative care with a loving home, and will cover the cost of my euthanasia when my second chance at life runs out (if in Gladstone).
I know this is a big ask, but I have hope, and I will wait for my happily ever after.-
