About Dewie DB517
Dewie is a an energetic, fun loving, beautiful boy who is looking for his forever home. He is a young boy that still needs a little bit of training, but has such a big heart, and is ready to find his forever person!
It breaks our hearts that Dewie is back with our rescue. He was adopted through us 2 years ago, but their family situation has changed so, although Dewie hasn’t done anything wrong, he once again has his paws crossed that his next home really will be forever.
Being a 2 year old staffy x, Dewie does get a bit excited meeting people so more training to stop him jumping is needed. For this reason, we recommend he isn’t suited to young children. Dewie walks nicely when he is out enjoying off lead bush walks but still needs work to stop pulling when on lead. We are looking for an owner who is committed to his ongoing training and setting him up for success.
Dewie is a bundle of energy and adequate exercise is essential. Dewie would suit an active home, where he can be taken for a long walk (ideally two!) or run every day, in addition to playtime in the backyard and sufficient mental stimulation. He needs space and a garden to explore, so would not suit a unit. Whilst daily walks and a good sized yard are necessary, he’d also love weekend hikes, running or accompanying you on a bike ride even more! He also loves ball games and playing with toys but isn’t a fan of water.
We can see Dewie being a great tradies mate or a family pet, but he will need someone who is home, or can be with him often, and will continue to teach him manners and boundaries. He loves the outdoors and camping but also loves to snuggle up at home and have cuddles.
Dewie was previously a very social boy, getting along with other dogs, and he’s even met a few horses, but not cats. Recently he hasn’t been socialised as much, but we are confident he could have doggy friends as, outside of his home, he is keen to play. He has lived with dogs in the past and has been perfectly fine but is a bit cautious about accepting them into his own property unless it is with a slow introduction.
Dewie is fully toilet and house trained, and sleeps through the night. He’s a sweetheart who will put a large smile on your face so please offer him his second chance and a perfect home.
