About 🌠AugustusðŸŒ
Augustus (Gus to his friends) is a calm, sensitive, sweet natured boy who enjoys the quiet life with his people.
He has taken a little bit of time to relax and settle in but has shown us he is keen for attention and affection from his people. There is a playful little furry clown in there too, but mostly he enjoys watching the birds or being close to his people.
This sweet boy has been loved his whole life and unfortunately came to us after both his parents passed on.
He luuuuuurves being brushed which is handy as he has a long, think coat that needs daily brushing to be kept knot free. This is a great way for his new people to bond with him and gain his trust before they start to clean his face, which he isn’t very keen on. Another of Gus’ hobbies is watching the world go by through the front door or through the window.
Sometimes he relocates to his scratcher and stretches out like a big monkey. During this time he may deign to let you give him a pat and cuddle but sometimes he prefers just to watch what is going on around him or trills like a bird while watching you go about your business.
When he is comfortable with you, he likes to play with a thing on a stick and will carry on like a little furry clown. He loves pats and attention and will often call out to you if he doesn’t know where you are. He is a fab eater that is able to clean himself up with a bath after dinner each night. Gus also has a big man voice to match his size and loves to sit in high up places (like his scratcher) and survey his scene.
Gus is looking for an older home without children where he can have some time to get used to his peoples’ routines. Gus needs a home with no dogs (and no chance of having to live with a dog in the future) as he is very stressed by them. While Gus may be fine with another cat with a lengthy introduction he prefers to hang out on his own so we would prefer to find a home of his very own. We would love to find a home where his people work from home some or all of the time so that he is able to have some human company during the day.
Gus is in care in Maryville, NSW and is available for adoption in Newcastle and surrounding suburbs.
Please note that only enquiries accompanied by a completed adoption questionnaire will receive a reply - https://www.squishiesrescue.org.au/animals-for-adoption
Medical notes
Gus goes to his new home desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with parasite treatments.
