About Jed
Firstly, a word from Jed:
My name is Jed and Iām a happy go lucky 1-1/2 year old Bull Arab x guy who enjoys exploring and finding things to play with and chase.
Iām a pretty chilled out dude who also loves hanging around with my foster sister doggie and foster mum when Iām not busy discovering stuff. I love a big garden or large property because Iām accustomed to roaming around and entertaining myself.
Im a good boy and stay inside fences when Iām told to and I donāt try to get out.
I just about ALWAYS come when Iām called because that means I get a treat!
I used to be very scared of the mobile dog bed, but Iāve now learned that that takes me to new and exciting places so I love to jump in and settle down for the ride. I donāt make a peep once we are on our way and Iām just happy to watch out the window or sleep.
Iāve recently been to the beach where I loved playing in the waves and running on the sand after the big white and grey birds. I dont run away and stay close to my people like a good boy.
I am very gentle with my toys and havenāt destroyed any of them but I love playing tug-o-war with the Tuff rope, and although Iāve picked up a few of those silly things humans put on their feet, Iāve never chewed them, not once!
My teddy will have to come with me to my new home as I really like him.
I donāt bark or whine, not even when I get left behind, I just patiently lay down and wait until foster mum comes home. I do bark if I see something scary and I do chase the bunny rabbits that are eating my foster mums garden, otherwise Iām as quiet as a mouse and just hang out.
Iām learning not to be frightened of the horses and cows but they are so big and scary, I still bark when I get near them.
The chickens are good fun though. They are scared of me but they are in a pen so I canāt chase them. I donāt want to hurt them but do make such funny noises when I run up to the wire.
I get along really well with both boy and girl dogs and would love to have a sister or brother to roll around and get into mischief with. I donāt think Iād like being alone all the time as Iād get very bored.
Iām smart, understand boundaries and learn things quickly like the dog door for example which only took me a few minutes once I understood it was ok for me to come indoors.
Even though I had never been inside a house before, I donāt make a mess and can wait all night until morning to go to the toilet.
I know Iām not allowed in my foster mum's bedroom so I sit just outside the door but never step over the line, not even when she leaves me on my own!
I occasionally jump up on people when I get really excited because I just canāt help myself, but Iām very light and gentle and donāt push anyone over. I just want to get close enough to people to give them kisses. I get told off when I do that, so I just need reminding from time to time not to do it.
Where I was before, I was around lots of children and I like them lots.
I like cats too as long as they donāt run away from me when I say hello - otherwise I might forget my manners and chase them.
I reckon Iām pretty special and everyone who meets me says the same thing, so it must be true!
Iām really looking forward to adopting my own family so I donāt need to ever leave them again as itās really tough and scary being dumped in the pound with nobody to love.

Jed comes with one of our adoption packs including a Harness, Lead and Seat belt safety
This special little man is seeking his forever family. He is a middle sized 1-1/2 year old lad, just above knee height and weighs a mere 26kgs.
Jed is honestly the most delightful young dog to have around and has well and truly made his way into our hearts.
Over the past four weeks, he has come from being a timid boy, terrified of the lead, stairs (??!) and the car, to a confident, bouncy, playful chap who now loves the car, who walks gently and calmly on the lead and runs up and down stairs without an issue.
BEHAVIOUR & OBEDIENCE
Jed is not at all destructive and despite never being in a house before, has not damaged a thing inside nor out.
He sleeps all night inside on his dog bed without making a sound and only gets up when the household awakens.
He does not climb on beds or couches but he would thoroughly enjoy that if he was allowed to!
He loves nothing more than sitting with his people getting cuddles and giving kisses to everybody.
When off the lead, he almost always comes when called and is getting better at that every day.
He responds to a whistle which he associates with a treat and lots of praise. He learns quickly and understands āNOā although he doesnāt like or need to be spoken to sternly.
SOCIALISATION
He gets along with all the dogs he has met so far and from what we have seen, there is not a bad bone in his body.
He sits and waits patiently until his food bowl is put down and is not food agressive, but he did have a squabble with the resident dog over a bone when he first arrived. Once it was established the resident dog was boss, there have not been any further issues.
FOOD
He is not a fussy eater but his tummy is a bit sensitive and better suited to blander foods with chicken or fish based ingredients, rather than lamb, which is a bit too rich. He loves Prime meat rolls especially and the occasional raw egg, and will do anything for a chicken treat!
TRAVEL /CAR
Jed now absolutely adores going on outings in the car and will eagerly jump in with anticipation of an adventure. He lays down or watches out the window for hours without making a sound.
HEALTH
Jed is in perfect health with bright clean teeth, clean ears and a shiny coat that is improving daily. He doesnāt mind getting his nails trimmed so his paws are neat and tidy.
IDEAL HOME
I could see this chap being a great family dog, a companion for a tradie where he could go to work in the car and hang around the worksite all day, or even a companion for an older couple as he is so gentle in his demeanour.
Ideally, he would need a big garden and/or lots of stimulation as he is young and active and likes nothing more than to seek and find things to chase or dig around for rats and mice and rabbits which shows his hunting blood lines.
He could possibly be an only dog as long as his people were around all the time, otherwise it would be best for him to have another dog in the home because he was always been part of a pack in his past life.
This boy has lots of love and joy to give to his new family and deserves to find the perfect home where he will be a treasured member of the pack.
