About Penny
Hi! I'm Penny and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR PENNY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/eEJBPwK9fJut6p7F9
NOTE: You are unable to meet Penny until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Mumma in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• I am a very shy girl in new situations and get anxious when left alone. I need a family who'll help me build up my confidence by giving time to get used to my new home and who will help me learn to be at home without my humans keeping me company.
• I'm nervous when meeting new dogs, however a gentle and calm doggie housemate may help with my anxiety and nervous nature. I cannot go to a home with a bouncy boisterous dog as they will terrify me
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/scared in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• A boisterous dog as they will scare me
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialisation
• I appear to be quiet vocal at times when left alone - a family who has a lot of time for me, allow me indoors and leave me with lots of mental enrichment when home alone is recommended
