About Mumma
Hi! I'm Mumma and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR MUMMA
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/P9gWZVRfLN48G4Pj8
NOTE: You are unable to meet Mumma until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Mumma in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• I am very scared when first meeting new people and will bark at you and try to avoid you. Once I warm up to you though I become a very happy and playful girl who LOVES attention
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I can be unsure around other dogs and may growl or bark at them. Due to this I need to be an only dog at home but I need a family who'll socialise me with other dogs so I learn that it's ok to be friends with them
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation - I LOVE toys
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• When I want attention I will paw at you, however I do tend to be quite hard when doing this so it's recommended that I don't go to a home with young children as I may accidently hurt them by scratching them. Older children should be ok.
• I show an interest in chasing fowl so I can't go to a home that has them
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/scared in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children due to my pawing behaviour
• No other dogs - I don't mind passing them and saying hi when out and about but I do tend to bark at new dogs.
• Chickens or Roosters – I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Love to snooze on the couch
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this. However, I do tire easily so short walks in cool weather is best for me.
