This is Rip aka Ripley. This handsome boy is a 6mo Bull Arab X. His personality is as big as he and his confidence is growing at the same rate.
Currently living with one other dog. Rip is Definitley the loudest, most outgoing of the trio. Always wanting to play and seeking a buddy to adventure with he is a playful boy who loves both humans and other animals company.
Rip is very dependent on his humans and looks to them to regulate his behaviour as he does not recognise when he is getting to much. He responds well to commands when he is becoming too loud. Although a big personality, he loves a cuddle with his humans. He needs to be a part of the family and welcomed inside.
As he is still quite young he requires a family who are committed to ongoing training as his manners are still developing. He can currently, sit, stay, wait for his food, and follow the release cue of ‘free’.
Rip responds well to introductions with new dogs and is happy to start a game. Although he responds well it is important his family will continue to monitor and reinforce appropriate play behaviours. He hasn’t been around cats or pocket pets however absolutely adores the three year old human he is currently staying with and you will often find them cuddling together watching a movie. Due to his size it is recommended that he go to a family with children familiar with big dogs as he does sometimes get excited and jump.
He travels well in the car and enjoys a walk with his two play mates. He walks well on lead however he will require a family who can continue with correcting his inappropriate lead mannerisms. Rip will grow to be a big dog so this is important when considering if he would be a good fit for your family.
As Rip has always had another dogs company it is recommend he is homed with a companion and playmate as he would be too lonely on his own. His current foster mummy works shift work however prior to the dogs being left for extended periods of time it is necessary for appropriate play behaviour to be established between the resident dog and Rip. The family needs to be happy to include him as part of the family.
Rip needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children of all ages who are familiar with big dogs or at least 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
