About Bentley
Rooooooaaar! Meet Bentley, the little lion. He definitely looks like one but actually acts like a dog. He'll shadow you wherever you go and prefers to be in the same room. He loves human food and eats anything accidentally dropped on the floor.
Bentley is food-motivated and needs to have his food portions monitored as he has a tendency to overeat. He's not a lap cat but enjoys being close by and cuddling up beside you. Chin, chest and head rubs are his favourite. But he doesn't like his tummy to be touched; only his favourite human is allowed to do this gently and slowly. Bentley is happy to be picked up and handled. He's got a very loud distinctive 'purrrrrrrr', which comes out often!
This man is quite vocal. He'll let you know when he's hungry, wants to come inside or just wants to say hello with his big Meow. Bentley also communicates with his eyes, which are very expressive and penetrating. He absolutely loves your company and has developed a special relationship with his primary caregiver. Bentley isn't interested in toys. However, he'll play chasing games when he's in the mood.
One of his quirks is ripping up paper or cardboard. He'll happily help you tear it down for you. He thrives on spending time both indoors and outdoors. Bentley loves a garden during the day where he prefers to do his business. A cat flap would be handy, as he likes coming in and out as he pleases. When he's in the garden, he eats fresh grass and languishes in the sun or shade when it's too hot. On a scorching day, he prefers to be inside with the air-conditioning.
Bentley is litter trained and has never had an accident, nor does he scratch the furniture. He prefers sleeping on the bed on his fluffy blanket (which he kneads) or on the floor close by. He's kept inside at night and goes outside in the morning after brekky. After 10 PM, Bentley is moved to his own bed in another room. He's scared of thunder and will hide under a bed or in a cupboard until it's over. He doesn't like the rain, so he prefers to stay inside during heavy rainfall.
Ideally, Bentley will go to a family with older children or a single person. He's never lived with other animals, but he gets on well with the neighbour's cats. He'd also love to have both in- as outside access and a garden would be fantastic. Bentley is a unique soul that has so much love to give!
Medical notes
Bentley’s mane requires regular grooming due to his long hair. He’s been clipped 2-3 times a year during the warmer months. Besides being an FIV-positive cat, he’s always had good health, good kidney function and beautiful skin and coat. His eyesight and hearing are excellent too. He eats Hills Science or Royal Canin biscuits, primarily the dental care and Weight management varieties. He had a couple of teeth removed last year. Bentley is not on any regular medications and goes to the vet every year for his check-ups and vaccinations.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
