About Petie
MUST go to a home with a young well-adjusted canine friend who he can romp and play with, and who can be a good role model for him. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE AN EXISTING DOG IN THE FAMILY
Peatie is a rambunctious, healthy 8 week old puppy who loves to run and play and when he is tuckered out he loves to climb on the lounge and have a snuggle with you. Peatie will be your little shadow but is learning to have some time by himself with his sibling Polly.
He must be allowed inside at all times and be permitted to sleep inside in a warm area of a night and to cuddle on the couch. It is estimated that he will grow into a 30-40 kg body so will need lots of exercise to keep him fit and trim.
We are looking for adopters who are looking for a dog to truly be part of the family, access inside, daily adventures and exercise, mental stimulation, supervised socialisation with other dogs and people outside of the home, force free training and of course lots of love and attention! So a home where adopters are not away from home for long periods and have the time for continued training are a must.
It’s also super important that adoptive families are committed to ongoing training, firstly of course puppy school but consistent training really for first 18 months and beyond is also very important. Peatie will grow into a large breed boy and it is very important that he grow into an awesome doggy citizen and an advocate for rescued dogs. His current carer is qualified trainer and is able to provide advice and knowledge for force-free free training, mental stimulation and socialisation.
Household noises tend to rouse him from his sleep during the day, but he is easily soothed back. His carer is currently working on desensitising him to household objects such as brooms and vacuum cleaners.
Peatie is also keen to learn.
He will sit for a treat and also for his dinner. He will also stay , if only for a few seconds but with continued training he will master it.
Peatie’s toilet training is well on its way and he will vocalise when he needs to go outside.
He has not been using pads and will instead go straight out into the backyard and use the grass. The rain and thunder doesn’t bother him and neither does the hose and water.
He is a great little sleeper and quite the adorable little snorer !
Peatie is an awesome little puppy who will need a family committed to his growth, development, training and care for at least the next 15 years
If you would like to meet Peatie please email us as much detail as possible on yourself and the home you are able to provide including your other dog and other pets if any, family members, lifestyle, exercise and mental stimulation you will provide, how often Peatie would be alone, where he will have access in the home, where Peatie would go if you went away and could not take him with you, ability to cover vet expenses and any other information you wish to provide. We will not be replying to any enquiries that do not send the additional information via email.
Medical notes
MEDICAL NEEDS
Peatie will have his second vaccination prior to going to his new home. His new owner will be responsible for ensuring that he receives his 3rd vaccination in a little over a month's time.
Peatie will be desexed at 8-12 months of age as per veterinary advice included in the adoption fee. Peatie will need to return to our rescue vet Beverly Hills Animal Hospital for his desexing procedure and we will liaise directly with his new owner regarding desexing booking.
