About Holly
Holly is the sweetest little thing. A whole load of personality packed into a tiny package. She is super affectionate to everything and everyone she meets. Holly currently weighs around 13kgs and is expected she will grow a little bit more.
Holly is a sensitive loving soul who will need a very patient human who is willing to continue to work with her on building her confidence in the outside world using force-free training methods and going at her pace.
Holly MUST be rehomed to a home with another existing calm, friendly/playful dog of similar size and one that will be a good role model for Holly and help her socialise in the outside world. Her dog sibling must be up for cuddles and kisses from Holly.
We believe she may not have had the best start in life and can be wary of strangers, particularly men. Despite this, she has nothing but love to give but does need a home where her new owners will be patient and gentle with her until she knows she is safe.
As a result of her sensitive nature, Holly is not suited to a home with children under the age of 16 yo
Holly is used to being inside with her foster family so must have access inside at all times and be permitted to sleep inside in a warm area of the home.. Holly considers herself a bit of a couch potato so a home where she is permitted on the couch and on the bed for cuddle time is the best fit for Holly.
Holly has shown some signs of separation anxiety and having another four-legged companion helps Holly greatly in this regard. Her carer has been working on this with Holly and she is now doing much better but will need a home where her new owner is not away from home for long periods
Holly has enjoyed bush walks, trips to the beach and loves meeting other dogs on her outings. Holly's new owner will have to be active and continue to get Holly out and about each day in quieter areas to start with building up her confidence gradually
She hasn’t been tested with cats but has done well living with a rabbit in her foster home so maybe okay around pocket pets with slow introduction.
Holly does not appear to have received any training in her previous home but has done so well with her toilet training and has learned some basics such as touch, sit, and lay.
Holly really just wants to love and be loved. She needs a home that will make her feel at ease, understand her nervousness, commit to her training and slowly build her confidence.
If you would like to meet Holly please send as much details as possible on yourself and the home you are able to provide, your other dog, family members, lifestyle, exercise, mental stimulation and outings you will provide, experience training sensitive dogs, how often Holly would be alone, where she will have access in the home, where Holly would go if you went away and could not take her with you, ability to cover vet expenses and any other information you wish to provide so that we can see if Holly is a good match. We will not be replying to any enquiries that do not send the additional information via email.
