About Darwin
Hi, I'm Darwin. I'm named after Charles Darwin, the famous scientist!
Like all the good scientists, I'm naturally curious and love doing experiments. Pens being pushed off desks is just my way of testing gravity! But my all-time favourite experiment is counting how many times you have to pat me before I start purring. Will it be 3 pats? Or 6 pats?
More than that - I am a playful and super intelligent boy that loves to have fun. Do you have ping pong balls? They are so cool, I just love to chase them. I also like wand toys that crinkle and make noises. I know how to walk on lead and my foster mum takes me for walks everyday! When I'm not on lead, I must be STRICTLY an INDOOR only cat due to having FIV (See below).
I'm also a cat of habit that loves routine. If I get playtime and food at certain times of the day, you can bet that I'll be keeping an eye on the clock!
At the end of the day though, I'm a big fan of being by people. I love sleeping on beds, and I'm a big fan of watching the world from a safe window. I get to see all the drama of outside while being safe and comfortable.
I would love to be part of a family with older children who can keep up with me and I would prefer not to have to live with dogs.
Can't wait to meet you and chase those ping pong balls with you!
**Special adoption**
I have been diagnosed with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and require a very special home that is going to make sure I am not put at risk so I can live a long happy life and not risk the safety of other cats.
My new adopter MUST;
- Have no other cats in the household OR only house with another cat that has an FIV positive status/fully up to date with vaccinations (this will need to be provided)
- Agree to always keep the cat indoors or in a secure enclosure, such as a Catmax.
- Understand that FIV is transmissible to other cats.
- Allowing the animal to roam will not only put their health and wellbeing at risk but also other non infected cats that may come in contact with them.
- Have a property check prior to adopting
We recommend having a chat to your local vet about FIV to make sure you fully understand the virus.
If you think you can give me that super special home, please apply to adopt today -
