About Melika
Wiggle it just a little bit!
Okay now I have that song stuck in your head - let me introduce to you our beautiful happy little 'wiggle it' machine Melika
Melika's zest for life is huge and the cheeky wiggling of the bum gives you a smile at her antics, She has the pug personality of everything is an adventure and fun and she will velcro herself to you in any activity you are wanting to do. Due to her excitement she has been known to get under feet but the pug smile and the bum wiggle soon makes you forget that you have just tripped.
Melika loves to cuddle on the couch / your lap - she is happy to jump up herself and join you and isn't shy about inviting herself - her happy confidence will make you automatically laugh and she is not shy in giving that pug grin knowing that she had invaded your personal space again.
When she sees her humans - yep you guessed it - wiggle of the bum (still got that song stuck in your head - encase you don't wiggle it just a little bit!)
Melika loves to go for walks (she defintely needs someone who will be her eyes as she can not walk a straight line and we mean can not walk a straight line - her wiggling bum knocks her off course regularly)
Melika's love for life also includes people/kids, dogs, toys and food.
Melika's love for food Did I mention she likes food! Like all good pugs her weight/diet needs to be monitored. Don’t be fooled by those big eyes and pitiful bark, she’s not dying of starvation.
Melika is not tested on cats but with her happy excited personality we think she will be fine with them.
Melika's ideal home will be with someone who is home more often than not or who works from home – yeah we know, everyone hates seeing that in posts about dogs but it's really true Melika loves her humans too much and needs them around her, She would not do well at a home where her humans are gone for more then 4 hours a day.
Melika currently sleeps on the bed and lets be honest it's not something she is going to want to give up doing.
Melika has a coat that does require brushing – she does require that 'magic fur glitter' to be brushed regularly and is not above leaving enough hair around that you could make a mini Melika with!
Melika is a girl who enjoys the luxury of an indoor life and is toilet trained however would require either a doggy door or access to go outside to do her lady business. Melika also being a pug must have access to air conditioning at all times.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.
** Please note applications will close Thursday 24th March 2022 at 5.30pm

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
