About Isa & Kenzo Chikara
Isa and Kenzo were found in the driveway of a house in Rockbank, in Melbourne's outer west. The kindly couple who found them tried to look after these tiny 2/3 week old kittens, but brought them in to rescue as they got sick. Kenzo was so sick he couldn't breathe and suck from the bottle, and they were both starving (so much so Isa would suck on her brother for comfort)... this is important later.
Fast forward two months and the little kittens have become big healthy kittens who finally weaned from the bottle (they wanted to be babies forever!). Isa's health was excellent apart from an occasional goopy eye (which is quite normal with kittens that have had cat flu), but Kenzo's... um... peedle had so much scar tissue that he couldn't piddle properly. He'd try, he was very good about using the litter tray, but the scarring meant it filled up in his peedle and then leaked all over the place.
The solution was microsurgery which happened mid February, with the risk that if the surgery didn't work, Kenzo would have to be euthanised (otherwise he'd die from auto-toxemia). After having his first round of surgery and being in a cage cooped up at the vets for a few days, Kenzo got bored, ripped off his cone and then proceeded to rip out his stitches, requiring emergency surgery, which was done on the same day by another vet and vet nurse who donated their time and the clinic their surgery space to repair his self mutilation. His foster carer described him as an 'egg', apparently a description for someone stupid but loveable from the country she originated from. Kenzo is so lucky he's cute, because he's one expensive little kitty! Meanwhile Isa lived happily as an attached supurrvisor without her brother, spending every waking minute with her foster carer.
Luckily both kittens survived the separation mostly intact, and apart from Kenzo being overly fond of crash tackling his sister in best rugby fashion and annoying the heck out of her. They are both healthy loving and affectionate big kittens / little cats ready to find their forever home. Are you ready to take on this special pair? Submit an enquiry and find out!
Isa and Kenzo are healthy raw fed kittens who have been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed (only Isa, Kenzo can't be desexed until May 2022, as he needs to heal from his other surgery) and microchipped (microchip #953010100090506, source #RE101165). They are available for adoption right now!
