About Sunny
This handsomely gorgeous gingerman has begun the search for his forever family!
Sunny is an adorable love muffin, is a mature 7 years old and adores all of the attention to be on him.
He is super smoochy, loves belly rubs and just adores curling up in someone’s lap after a good stretch in the sun!
Sunny would best suit an only pet household, as per his medical records below his new family will be better able to manage his commonly stress related urinary condition.
Sunny will go to his new home desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccination, worming, flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Medical notes
Sunny has been diagnosed with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease, and this was diagnosed by the behavioral trait of toileting outside of the litter box, which is commonly referred to as Inappropriate Toileting.
Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) is not a specific disease, but rather is the term used to describe conditions that can affect the urinary bladder and/or urethra (the lower urinary tract) of cats.
The treatment of FLUTD will depend on the underlying cause. In general, increasing water intake, and encouraging more frequent urination are good objectives in all cases of FLUTD. This may be helped by feeding wet (tinned or sachet) foods rather than dry foods, encouraging drinking, correcting obesity, encouraging exercise, and, specifically in Sunnys case, medical management, especially whilst transitioning into new environments and homes.
FLUTD is thought to affect around 1-3% of cats each year, so is among the more common diseases seen. Because of the diverse nature of the underlying causes, cats of any age, breed and gender can be affected by FLUTD, but in general, the disease is more common in:
Middle-aged cats
Neutered cats
Over-weight cats
Cats which take little exercise
Cats with little or no access outside
Cats that eat a dry diet
We are more than happy to discuss Sunnys' medical and dietary management further with interested adoptive families!
