About Matthias
*In foster care in Blacktown, Sydney*
Super-smart but a huge goofball at heart, Matthias loves hanging out with his humans more than anything else in the world! He's great with other dogs, great with kids of all ages and great walking on the lead. Basically, he's the perfect all-rounder!
Matthias has mastered a range of commands, and can be described as more of a greeter than a guard dog :) While he's not a fan of cats, he adores pretty much everything else - including small yappy dogs (his sister is a miniature dachshund who gets up in his face all the time), long walks around the block followed by a hearty meal, and singing along to the neighbourhood dogs' howls.
Like all Maggie's pets, Matthias is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I'd love to be able to spend heaps of time with my family, and included in your daily activities. I don't have any separation anxiety though, and can be left outside on my own for a few hours at a time when you're gone.
Speaking of outside - easy access to a backyard for toileting and to get some fresh air when I feel like it would be amazing! I can be your only pet or live happily with another friendly dog - I'm easy :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I really look forward to my twice-daily walks - they keep me healthy in body and mind! I quite enjoy the occasional romp in an off-leash dog park with other well-behaved dogs too. Most of the time though, I'm content to just laze around the house and shower my family in cuddles and kisses. (I always forget how big I am, so I love to climb up onto any lap that will have me!)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I like all children of all ages, including babies! Keep in mind though that I can get a bit boisterous when excited, so because of my size and strength I shouldn't be left alone with smaller kids.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: No thank you to cats, yes please to nice dogs! I'm super-sociable and confident, so there's very few dogs who I don't take to immediately :)

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
