About Mitzee- 11 Year Old (on trial 09/05/2022)
Introducing Mitzee, a grand old lady looking for her forever home.
Mitzee’s had a rough couple of months. She was surrendered to the local pound as her mother moved into an aged care facility that was unable to accommodate pets. Mitzee wasn’t real keen on being in the pound, she told us the accommodation wasn’t up to her standards! Fortunately, we were able to take her into foster care and get her a poolside room while she waits for her forever home.
When Mitzee came into our care she was extremely overweight, not just big boned as she kept was telling us! We have her on a controlled diet to reduce her weight back to a healthy range but she’s not liking that one bit.
You can imagine what this poor old lady has been through over the past couple of months, having to slum it at the pound until her new foster dad sprung her out, moving into new digs that are not familiar at all, and then being put on a diet. She thought her world was ending and did start to play up a bit.
To be honest, she’s old and cranky, and being almost 11 years old (Her birthday is in April) we feel she’s entitled to be a bit cranky, but to help with Mitzee’s moods she is taking a natural calmer which is definitely helping.
Ideally, Mitzee would be suited to an experienced cat owner with lots of patience. As an old lady she will need time to adjust to her new home and surroundings. She is not real keen on other cats and is looking to be the only animal in the home.
Mitzee is also looking for a home without small children. Kids aged 12 or over who are respectful of cats and their boundaries would be best, but she is ultimately looking for a very quiet, calm home.
Mitzee is strictly an indoor only cat, unless she has a secure enclosure to spend some outdoor time in
Mitzee is currently in care in Medowie. Her adoption fee is $80, which includes all her updated vet work, flea treatment and worming while in care.
