Malachite is a gorgeous champagne ginger boy with a heart of gold. Right from the time he came into our care this boy was keen to show us just how funny, playful and adventurous he is.

Malachite and his sister Amber (also listed on Pet Rescue*) had a rough start in life and took some time to learn to trust humans – Amber more than her brother. Malachite quickly learned that humans meant food and love.

Fast forward a few months and this adorable boy can now be found bounding about his foster home as happy as Larry. He loves to jump up on the bed in the morning and greet you with happy chirps for breakfast – but not before diving his head into the pillows or doona!

When you pat and love on Malachite he will turn on his beautiful purr and give you with his love eyes. He is an intelligent boy who is quick to work things out and learn new ways to amuse himself and everyone around him.

Malachite is not overly fond of being picked up as he prefers to get his kicks on the ground, where he can run and chase and play! Being so active, Malachite is also not much of a lap cat right now but he certainly has the potential to be once his zany kitten phase is over.

Dogs don’t faze this plucky boy one bit, so he’d be great in a home with a small, cat-friendly dog. He would be okay with another cat too, as long as they are introduced slowly over time. But he would also be completely happy being your only cat too.

Malachite has been in care in a home with children so he would be great to fit in with an active family. He would also be fine as an adored fur child for a couple or as wonderful company for someone who lives alone but is home a fair bit to keep him company (and play with him!).

*If you are looking to adopt a pair, Malachite is fond of his sister Amber but the two are not especially bonded.
