Hello kind humans of the outside world, I’m Ivan. The bringer of ka-pows and head boops!

Nature
I’ve been in care for a few months now and I’m finally getting used to the soft feel of cushions rather than the rough asphalt of roads. Having spent the majority of my years fending for myself, I’m quite enjoying finding food in bulk and getting scratches on demand.

For the first part of my time in care I mostly hid in the cat run; scared of humans and cats alike. But over time my Foster Mum introduced me to the magical power of the back scratcher and eventually I’d sneak inside looking for a friendly hand to pat me. Now I wait under the dining room table and meow enthusiastically at my Foster Mum for scratches the moment she crosses my path; sometimes I’ll even ka-pow her on her ankle if she ignores me. It doesn’t hurt, but it sure does get the message across!

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I live with lots of other cats who I don’t mind, although I do let them know they can’t boss me around. I also live with a big doggo, but he usually gives me a wide berth, so he’s cool.

I’d most likely suit adult-only homes because of my short time in human care and my tendency to swat my disapproval. I am always looking to hang out with my Foster Mum though, so she’s confident it won’t take me much longer to be a full-blown lap cat. I’ve even got the chubby cheeks to blend into a soft lap!

Likes / Dislikes
I enjoy foods of all types and don’t usually turn my nose up at anything - I’m a pretty easy going fella. I’m only just starting to learn how to play with toys. I need a little more time to figure out this feather string business.

My PURR-fect home would be with a loving family who can provide me with my own small space to begin with, such as a container room such as a bathroom where I can get to know my mew family, before I go traipsing off to explore the vastness of my kingdom.

Medical Notes: Ivan has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can affect his immune system, however, he can still potentially live a long healthy life. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Due to his FIV Ivan will need to be an indoor only cat. FIV cats can live harmoniously with other cats however slow introductions are required to ensure they do not fight.
