The gorgeous little Stella is now seeking her forever home

Stella is quite simply a people-person. She isn’t a massive fan of toys just yet, as she much prefers to just get as close to you as possible until she receives a head scratch, especially on her cheeks or behind her teeny tiny ears. She will appreciate all the time you invest into her. When it is time for walkies, she will sit and wait for you to put her harness on. She enjoys half-hour walks at least every second day but she is still learning how to behave on lead and walk straight (she’s still very new to the walking process). Stella can fixate on cars going past or bark towards a passing dog and so it is important to remind her to keep on walking. Stella seems to not have had much social interaction with other pets however she has proven to behave herself with a kelpie when off lead. We believe she can adjust with some furry company although would probably rather be close with humans instead. In terms of her coat,. When bathing Stella, we recommend using a bucket of soapy water and a sponge before rinsing her off as she hates the water.
OBEDIENCE
Stella is still lacking some common commands although is very responsive to her name, ‘sit’ and is steadily improving on ‘wait’. . As long as her new owner is patient, Stella can definitely continue improving on her obedience. Stella is also toilet trained and loves being both indoors and outdoors. Stella can get very excited and jumpy when it is time for food, but hey we all love dinner right lol but outside of this she is very calm..
ENRICHMENT
Stella loves love and loves attention. If left alone, she is probably just dreaming of more head pats. She doesn’t dig any holes or destroy any plants. She also loves eating her food very quickly so toys that will slow this down will keep her entertained. Stella genuinely loves just being with you, any human interaction is great and the more she gets the more she loves.
SOCIALISATION
Stella is learning how to become more social. She has shown on-lead aggression to dogs passing by including cats, although has had no problems with our family kelpie during the foster experience when playing in the backyard but this did take a very slow introduction
TRAVEL/CAR
Once Stella is assisted in climbing into a car, she loves sitting down and looking out the window (just make sure it is closed enough so she can’t jump out when driving past furry friends). Otherwise, throughout the car ride, she is very relaxed.
IDEAL HOME:
We feel Stella would thrive in most homes as long as she is around people for a large majority of the day. She does not require a lot of space or another furry friend as Stella is easily pleased with human interaction. Stella can be both an inside or outdoor pet. Her new family will need to take her out for walks and provide moderate amounts of attention on days when she stays home. Stella is an easily pleased and extremely sweet lady and can be your new companion's best friend.
Based on her lead aggression towards other animals we feel she is best suited as an only dog and her new family will need to spend the time and have patience to get her used to being around others while on lead
