Please do not be disheartened or discouraged if you do not receive a reply, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time. Dog Rescue Newcastle reserve the right to not reply to unsuitable applicants and will not tolerate bullying, intimidation or harassment of our volunteers
This handsome dashing black and tan 6-year-old Kelpie x German Shephard is Dodger.
A very adorable, affectionate and easy-going boy who loves to be around his humans.
Dodger is quiet and well behaved and swear by his food, his daily walks/runs and his time
with his human parents. Dodger is a medium size dog, about 55cm at his shoulders which
makes him the perfect size companion.
Dodger loves adventure and discovering new places. He prefers large open areas where he can run freely and play with his ball. He warms up to new people quickly and loves tagging along with your daily house chores. He loves playing in the backyard and is always super excited to greet you when you come home.
Dodger will gladly show you how good he is at sitting, shaking, lying down and waiting if you promise him a little treat. He also will wait the command to eat his food. Dodger is toilet trained and currently sleeps in his bed in the living room of him foster carer or on the sofa. Since coming into care, He has developed more social behaviours around other dogs.
However, he likes to socialise on his own terms and will need an introduction to the new
dogs he meets. When it comes to other animals, Dodger is very calm, doesn’t bark or try to chase. He currently lives in a house with a budgie who he gets along with (always under supervision). He doesn’t pay much attention to other dogs barking when on his walk.
Dodger’s fur-ever family will need to have an active lifestyle and understand that Dodger
will need exercise and mental stimulation. As he loves him humans so much, he would need to be welcomed inside when the family is home and be involved in his new family’s life. Dodger would benefit with someone that is at home often.
Dodger loves cuddles and attention. The more time you can give him the better. As Dodger can get very energetic, he would be better with an active couple/family who can
offer him daily walks, lot of playing time and gives him in return the unconditional love he
gives.
We hope you will consider adopting this absolute sweetheart. For more information on
Dodger, please contact his foster carer on their email aj.et.julie@gmail.com . Dodger is in
foster care in Medowie, NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Dodger's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
