Arfur

Arfur is a beautiful mixed breed boy looking for his forever home.

This boy absolutely loves to play with his toys and has so much love to give! He enjoys nothing more than snuggling up on the couch with his humans.

Arfur is fantastic around other animals of all types, shapes and sizes. He’s currently in care with budgies, horses and has lots of doggy friends. He would love a home with another friendly, well-balanced dog that will love playing with him too and help show him the world isn't such a scary place!

Unfortunately, Arfur didn’t have much exposure to people and new environments prior to foster care, and as such still finds the world a bit scary. He is searching for a patient, experienced person or family who can continue with his obedience and confidence-building training by gradually introducing him to new situations and new people in a way that will make him feel comfortable in the world.

Arfur takes time to warm up to people, especially men, but once familiar with you he is the most loving cuddly boy. This comes from a lack of confidence and socialisation. This will be something his adopter will need to put a lot of work into. He has improved ten-fold since arriving in care BUT until he's built a bond with his person they will need to work on those first meetings and go slowly.

Arfur is crate trained and is going excellently with his basic training. An ongoing commitment to continued training is needed, as is the case with all young dogs. He would prefer a quiet home without constant visitors. He is ok with older children but they will need to be old enough to understand his need for space and patience.
