Pax is a real little snuggle buddy and loves to cozy up on the couch for movies. But he's also equally happy sunbathing and chewing a bone in the yard - so would ideally be suited to a home where he is welcome to snuggle with his humans and with time to frolic in the yard!
Pax is just bursting with love but is still a very nervous and timid puppy. He needs a household that will not only love him unconditionally but be patient and calm, and implement positive training and firm ground rules. While he loves his foster Mum, men are still a bit scary for Pax. But you can just tell he can't wait to be his foster Dad's best friend, it just takes time and cuddles to earn his trust!
New faces and crowded places can be a bit of a sensory overload, but with patience and reassurance (and treats!) Pax is learning that these new experiences and people can be fun! Pax is super motivated by food and is a very quick learner! He already sits on command - will go to "bed" and patiently wait for dinner to be served - but that's just the beginning! The sky is limit and Pax is super excited to learn (for some treats!).
Pax is an all-star fetcher, he loves to fetch balls, sticks, toys...anything you'll throw for him really! Some of his favourite things: Food, Fetch, Cats, Snuggles, Toilet paper, and Zoomies with his fur foster brothers.
Some of the things Pax and his foster mumma are working on are; jumping up - Pax can get excitable and is still learning to settle when you enter the room; walking confidently on a lead - Pax requires some encouragement to leave the safety of his home but once he's out past the driveway he's a DREAM to walk. He's not interested in pulling on the lead or bounding off! He'll happily trot alongside you!
While Pax will make an excellent watchdog, we are working on his confidence around new people so he's less reactive and the postman can deliver the mail in peace! With consistent training and encouragement Pax is well on his way to being the goodest boi ever - can you help him on his journey to greatness?
Pax loves company, so the perfect fit for him would be another playful and friendly dog and a family who is home more often than not. He currently lives with 2 mini dachshund brothers and a large boisterous cat. He's still figuring out how to use his long lanky legs so can be a bit rough during playtimes so playful, tolerant companions are a must! He can be a bit excitable so older children are recommended.
