About Ali
Hi
I’m Ali. Im a 3 ish year old Labrador and I came to TOTF for many reasons.
I’m not your stock standard lab, whatever that means, but I do have some ‘quirks’ as that’s what they tell me here. I like this place TOTF. They have promised me that they will find me the perfect family for ‘ME’.
Just a little back history…
I have come with some baggage, but my carer has been working really hard to make me the best dog I can be.
I was on pretty high doses of anti anxiety, antidepressant meds, which I have been weaned off successfully.
I’ve been attacked 3 times in my short life, unprovoked I might say, but has made me reactive on lead with certain dogs. But I have been hanging out a lot with two older calmer golden retrievers and visit them so I can swim on their pool and fish pond.
Since they introduced the halti to me it has made a world of difference to my human and myself.
TOTF was told I wasn’t dog friendly and when I look back, maybe I wasn’t but that’s because I’m scared I’m going to get attacked again.
I think my perfect home would be a busy active family that has a strong male role model for me. So I feel protected and safe. This is starting to sound like a dating profile??🥰 Maybe it is? Maybe I need that perfect match!
I’m a big strong girl, that doesn’t know how strong I am, so I would need older kids? Or I’d be even happy with a couple that loves my kind of breed.
They keep telling me what a good girl I am, and I know I can make someone really happy, but I want my person to know I’m still a work in progress.
So I’ll be looking forward to seeing who matches with me.
Oh by the way I’m on the Gold Coast. And the privilege of my company is $600
Medical notes
I did come in with ear infections which have cleared.
And I have been recently weaned off strong anti anxiety tabs
Adoption details
We shortlist and contact families who may fit the dogs needs. If indications are positive, normally after sleeping on it, a home check is organised, then an adoption agreement is completed, adoption donation (variable on account of age and health of individual dog) is transferred and the dog will become part of your family.
All our dogs have had a consultation with our vet, are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and treated for fleas. As we want every dog to be in its own family we try and fit dogs into forever homes, we don’t offer “Trials”. Naturally unforeseen circumstances arise occasionally where it’s preferable dogs come back to us as per our adoption agreement.
